Silicon Metal Raw Material Market Weakens, Silicon Coal Prices Decline in Multiple Regions [SMM Silicon Daily Review]

SMM Mar 24: Some silicon prices in east China edged down. The price of above-standard #553 silicon ranged from 10,300 to 10,500 yuan/mt, and the price of #421 silicon for silicone use was between 11,800 and 12,100 yuan/mt, with an average decrease of 50 yuan/mt; the price of #3303 silicon was in the range of 11,500 to 11,900 yuan/mt, also with an average decrease of 50 yuan/mt. Under the influence of a weak silicon metal market, the price of silicon coal, a raw material for silicon metal, also fluctuated downward recently. Prices of silicon coal in many regions declined, even the non-caking silicon coal in Xinjiang, which had robust order demand, did not hold its price, and underwent the second price reduction this year, currently falling to 1,050 yuan/mt. Similarly, the price of non-caking silicon coal in Shaanxi also dropped again, with current market prices varying between 800-900 yuan/mt, and some silicon coal with higher moisture content even reached around 740-750 yuan/mt.
